Are You Team Harden Or Team Giannis For MVP? š¤
As the NBA season heads toward its climax, the question of who will take home the coveted MVP title remains at the forefront of every basketball fan's mind. The Athletic recently published an anonymousĀ opinion of 122 NBA players, showing that they think the Houston Rockets star James Harden should win his second-straight MVP award:
- James Harden (44.3 percent)
- Giannis Antetokounmpo (38.9 percent)
- Paul George 12.7 percent)
- Joel Embiid (1.7 percent)
- Tie: Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Kawhi Leonard (1 percent)

Harden won the MVP from both the media and playersĀ in the last 2017-18 season, and both he and Giannis are the favourites to win in this season. This season, Harden saved the Rockets as they were plagued with injuries, while also leading the league with a cruisey average of 36.1 points per game - the seventh-most in NBA history. This year alone, he has broken a range of records, joining Michael Jordan as one of the only two players to average at least 30 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals in a season.Ā
Meanwhile, his main competitor Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per game and is on pace to become the first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to average 27 points, 12 rebounds and five assists per game, something that only Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor have accomplished. His team, the Milwaukee Bucks, have the best record in the NBA.Ā
