Carmelo Anthony Finalises Hawks & Free Agent Deal
After months of rumours and speculation about Carmelo Anthony's NBA movements, ESPN has reported that Anthony has finalised a contract buyout with the Atlanta Hawks and will wait until clearing waivers to officially let the Houston Rockets know of his plans to sign a free-agent deal.
The Hawks did indeed waive Anthony, meaning he can clear waivers on Wednesday. He has been adamant for a while now that he wished to be a free agent to then choose his future team.
ESPN reports that Anthony will get his full $27.9 million salary for the 2018-19 season, and will take a $2.4million reduction in his buyout, but when he signs with his new team he will get the $2.4 million "veteran's minimum" deal.
Reports are saying that Anthony is considering Philadelphia and Miami as potential teams to sign with, however will most probably sign with the Houston Rockets.
