Dwyane Wade Offered $25M To Play In China
Reports have come in that free-agent guard Dwyane Wade has been offered a three-year, $25 million contract to play for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. This would made Wade the highest-paid player in China and one of the largest overseas deals ever.
Andray Blatche who plays for Xinjiang in the Chinese Basketball Association earns less than the deal and Josh Childress received only $6M after taxes from Olympiacos in Greece in 2008.
Wade played last season with Miami Heat - his usual team spanning 15 seasons of the sport. According to reports, the Heat are about the NBA salary cap so they can only offer Wade $5.3M.
Wade recently signed a lifetime pact with Chinese apparel company Li Ning and was in China for a promotional tour. He said earlier this month that he would make a decision on his future once he returned to the United States from that tour.
