Jimmy Butler Playing In Wolves' Season Opener
It has been confirmed by the Minnesota Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau that guard Jimmy Butler will be playing the season opener on Wednesday, despite all the drama surrounding his attempted trade.
Although Butler didn't play in the final preseason game Friday, Thibodeau said Butler was working on his conditioning: Butler said that "They want me to go out here and hoop to the best of my abilities. Make sure I'm healthy, compete, because that's what I love to do, and do it for the guys in the same jerseys as me.''
When he returned to the team last week, Butler had a meltdown at his team and coaches.
Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Wolves and Heat were on the verge of a Butler trade last weekend, but it fell apart at the 11th hour. The Wolves face Cleveland on Friday in their first home game.
